Membership Information
- User groups become "affiliated groups" of
BUG.
- Leaders of affiliated groups become executive
members of BUG and have one vote for corporate issues
- Individual members of user groups become
associate members of BUG but do not have any votes in corporate issues.
[Their intentions and desires will be represented by the vote of their
respective executive member.]
- Associate members who have contributed
their financial resources (typically through participation in our various
activities), become Gold members of BUG.
- To become an active member group of BUG, a user group must meet the
following requirements:
- Hold periodic user group meetings
- Update their website at least every six
weeks to indicate the active nature of the group
- Non-profit status. Groups whose
proceeds are used for the benefit of a company or whose goal is to solicit
sales for a company will not be considered for membership
- Maintain a link on the user group's
website that points to Boston User Groups [see image and link
information below]
- User groups that do not meet the above
requirements will be designated as "inactive." These groups will be
removed from the BUG website unless the requirements are met..
